The War of Wrath has come
ruins dull under the sun
revenge of the Elven high
Dragon slayer Tuor's son

Sails raised high and proud
cries of battle have sound
the grand Mountains tremble
Ancalagon's death shakes the ground

Glorfindel's steel shines bright
bane of the Balrog in the light
standing tall in the mists
fell the demon with true might

the War of Wrath rages on
story told in longing song
banish Morgoth from the land
reclaim the earth where they belong

blood runs deep across the stone
veil of smoke from burning tome
clash of kin and mighty monsters
aid from Aman they're not alone

Victory is won but bittersweet
the survivors in shadow meet
taking refuge in ships and vallyes
new home of Numenor soon complete

the tale is told to the elven-kin
a tragedy but yet they still win
so the young may not forget
the treachery of those within

betrayal by the Thim-Dullins
blood against blood in the halls
sun choked by the acrid smoke
the story told for time all
